Rhetoric and Composition
Our First-Year Writing program provides instruction to approximately 2500 students each semester. Our goal is to prepare you for the types of writing demands you will face throughout your career at Texas Tech.
As a student in either ENGL 1301 or ENGL 1302, you will write frequently. You will also attend class one day per week. You will submit all assignments online and they will be evaluated by small teams of instructors.
The instructors of our courses are Master's and Ph.D students pursuing degrees in Literature, Creative Writing, Linguistics, or Technical Communication and Rhetoric, lecturers, or tenure-line faculty.
