Program Highlights

Texas Tech offers degree programs in technical communication at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. The Master of Arts in Technical Communication and the PhD in Technical Communication and Rhetoric are available both as resident and online programs.
Fourteen tenure-line faculty members specialize in technical communication and rhetoric, offering expertise in a range of areas.
An active student chapter of the Society for Technical Communication complements classroom instruction.
The program is the current home of Technical Communication Quarterly (edited by Amy Koerber) and the web site of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing.
Our Multiple Literacy Lab (MuLL) provides services and technology for new media design.
Our Usability Research Laboratory works with corporate clients and serves as a resource for faculty and student research.
Facilities include five computer classrooms in a state-of-the-art building.
We teach courses at the sophomore and junior levels that help students in various majors develop their writing abilities.
Job placement for graduates of all programs is excellent.

In applying this research, we aim to educate our students as scholars and practitioners, to strengthen the field through dissemination of knowledge, and to serve the community through professional leadership.
